Exhibition in Stryn

2012.06.04

The 23rd of June Galleri MYR opens a new exhibition; Nightmares and Daydreams, with me and the amazing illustrator Katrin Berge !

Both of us exhibit high quality prints, in different styles, colors and sizes. Nightmares and Daydreams are surrealistic, stylish, and sometimes dark or disturbing. It will certainly lead the viewer into a different world, where the borders between reality and fantasy disappears.

Stryn

2011.08.24

Hello!

This summer I moved to Stryn, a small town on the Norwegian countryside. I have already hired an art studio and I'm looking forward to have far better working conditions than in Oslo! I also plan to open a small gallery together with my husband. The work is in progress and we're planning to open the very first exhibition at October 6th, right ahead of the famous "Strynemessa", which is an yearly marked in Stryn.

Update

2011.04.03

Hello! Just back from an amazing trip to Cairo. The trip included visits to the archeological sites of Giza, Saqqara and Dahshur, as well as the really great Egyptian Museum in Cairo, and I returned with a lot of inspiration and ideas for my current project. I also had time to explore the contemporary art scene and visited among others the Townhouse and the Mashrabia Gallery.

See my Facebook page for pictures!

Kairo

2011.03.01

As a part of the TP II project I plan to go on a study trip to Kairo this month. Yes, I know it is bad timing, but I planned this trip long before the protests started. The situation is better now, and hopefully it'll be a exiting trip!

PROJECTS
Nightmares and Daydreams

I've been working with paintings inspired by real life (as seen by children), dreams, and fiction (as visualized in cartoon movies) in many years. So far I've never exhibited or published any of these works, but now I've decided to make a small collection available as giclée prints.

You Look and You See it Not

You Look and You See it Not is a collection of paintings that I have been working with since 2010. In these paintings I use my triangular style combined with figurative elements and symbols to discuss existential questions. During the time I've been working with these paintings, I visited Egypt twice, and the paintings are heavily influenced by methodology and techniques from ancient Egypt.

Never Mind

Never Mind is a project about violence, assaults and powerlessness. To reflect the seriousness of this message, I have changed the visual expression from the symbolic style used in my previous works to a visually direct style that confronts the observer with a clear message.

Abstract Views

This mini project started on a trip from Bergen to Oslo. The nature passing by the window inspired me and back in Oslo I decided to have a few weeks brake from the project I was working on at the time and make a series of works based on the impressions from the trip.

Triangular Perspectives

After I finished Einar Granum school of art, I wanted  to further develop my artistic expression and started to combine inspiration from what I've learned with my own personal preferences and subjects.  This resulted in the yearlong project Triangular Perspectives.
